House of Hammer was a horror themed magazine tied-in to the output of the famous Hammer studios, created by Dez Skinn and published by Top Sellers between 1976 and 1978. The magazine contained a mix of features and comics content, with the lead strip usually being an adaptation of a Hammer film such as Dracula. Other strips included Captain Kronos and Van Helsing's Terror Tales, as well as several stories featuring Father Shandor who would later feature in Skinn's later title, Warrior. Creators who worked on the magazine included Paul Neary, David Lloyd, John Bolton and Brian Bolland. The title was changed to Hammer's House of Horror with #19, but was forced to change the title again, to Halls of Horror, with #21 (rival publisher Jim Warren having rather sneakily copyrighted the name House of Horror). The magazine ended with #23, but was revived (still as Halls of Horror) by Skinn's company Quality Communications in 1983 after they tested the waters with a reprint edition in 1982. The first all-new edition was numbered #25, and the revived title ran until issue #30, though the last few issues contained no comics content.
