Hob was the robot assistant of meglomaniac businessman Josiah W. Dogbolter. At one point, he and Dogbolter were blasted into the space-time continuum after incurring the wrath of Death's Head. Hob survived, altered into a monstrous new form, and formulated a complex plan to locate Dogbolter and also get revenge which involved manipulating the timelines of both Death's Head and Death's Head II. He was defeated and, restored to his original form, eventually returned to Dogbolter's service. When The Doctor exposed his master's criminal enterprises to the world though, Hob resigned.
