Hire a Horror is a humour strip which originated in the first issue of Cor!! in 1970, originally drawn by Reg Parlett and later (from issue #98 in April 1972) by Robert Nixon. It revolves around an agency which hired out monsters to the general public; generally, if the horrors have been hired for a benevolent purpose, things will turn out well for the customer, but if they have less pleasant motives, the arrangement will backfire on them. 'Orrible 'Ole, later a regular feature in Whoopee!, first appeared in Hire a Horror in 1970. The weekly strip ended when Cor!! was cancelled, but continued to appear in Cor!! Annuals for several years. More recently, it was resurrected in Monster Fun when that title was revived by Rebellion.
