High Noon Tex was a one-page comic strip created by writer Simon Furman and artist Geoff Senior to introduce the character Death's Head. The strip was published simultaneously in several different Marvel UK titles in 1987, purely in order to secure Marvel's copyright on the character since he was due to make his "official" debut in the pages of the licenseed Transformers comic (issue #113) and if this was allowed to be his first actual published appearance, the character could be claimed by Hasbro as part of the licence agreement, meaning that Marvel could potentially lose him when their licence to publish Transformers expired.
