History[]

The male lead of the comic strip Hewligan's Haircut in 2000 AD was haunted all his life by strange visions of gigantic stone faces, which resulted in his being confined to a lunatic asylum. There, due to a pair of defective plastic NHS scissors, he ended up with a bizarre haircut which somewhat improbably exactly duplicated the sigil which would cause the Zonal Frequency Modulators who protect the structural integrity of the multiverse (also known as the giant stone heads on Easter Island) to fall asleep, leading to the gradual collapse of reality. Hewligan found himself on a quest to put matters right, alongside the mysterious Scarlet O'Gasmeter, with whom he found love.

Powers and abilities[]

Abilities

None to speak of.

Strength level

Young human male who doesn't get much exercise (because of confinement in psychiatric hospital).

Weaknesses

Hopelessly devoted to Scarlet O'Gasmeter.

Paraphernalia[]

Transportation

Double-decker bus; a rocking horse called Dada; a giant stone head.

Notes[]

Hewligan's name is an amalgamation of the names of his creators, Peter Milligan and Jamie Hewlett. Presumably the alternative, 'Millett', was thought a tad unexciting.

Trivia[]

Hewligan and his resplendent haircut had a one-panel cameo in 2000 AD prog 2000 (published September 2016), where they were drawn by Colin MacNeil. He looked a bit spaced out but very happy.
