History[]
Fascination is one of the time- and space-travelling parahuman mercenaries known as the Special Executive, and more than a century before that a member of the Technet. She repeatedly encountered Captain Britain (Brian Braddock) while with both groups at various points in her personal timeline (which was not always in synch with his), and as a member of the Technet also encountered both Excalibur and the Fantastic Four. She seems to be an empath with little in the way of a personality of her own, and has never demonstrated the ability to speak; she may not even think in the way that we do. Normally, she is placid, forever smiling, using her abilities seemingly instinctively to calm others; violence, however, triggers a similarly violent reaction in her, and she becomes feral.
Powers and abilities[]
Powers
Fascination has the ability to temporarily disable people by firing all their neural synapses at once, though she needs to be in close proximity to her victim to do this. Her species feeds on the excess emotional energy of sentient beings. She is capable of teleportation, and floats above the ground rather than actually flying most of the time, though she is capable of actual flight.
Strength level
Superhuman.
Paraphernalia[]
Transportation
She can fly and teleport.
Weapons
Her mind.
Notes[]
Following Alan Moore's departure from Marvel UK, the Special Executive could not be used by Marvel, but newer members including Fascination were incorporated into the Technet by Alan Davis and Jamie Delano. When the Technet were used by Marvel in the US title Excalibur, writer Chris Claremont further distanced Fascination from her roots by renaming her Scatterbrain.
