Crag Taylor, Slim Parker, Big John Slansky and thirteen year old Goggles Grant are the Esper Commandos, "mental freaks", each with a unique power. They work as a secret unit of British Intelligence (who are presumably unaware of the restrictions on employing children under sixteen).
Decades after their debut, the Commandos resurfaced to aid The Vigilant in battling Von Hoffman's forces.

Crag is telekinetic (he moves things with his mind); Slim is a telepath; Big John can teleport; and Goggles can cast illusions.
