Eric Openshaw was the bluff, slightly stupid millionaire owner of Warbury FC, and remains their Chief Executive. His wife Vanessa is much younger and has always regarded him as an embarrassment. Eric and Vanessa briefly parted and Eric found new love with pub landlady Doris Dickens, but the pair are now back together.
Eric's son, Todd, is actually the biological son of Nick Jarvis, but although Eric knows this, he has never allowed it to affect his relationship with the boy, and has forgiven both Nick and Vanessa for their indiscretion.
