History[]

Before he was born, Dwight's family was en route to Neptune in a spaceship when they were attacked by the alien Geeks. To escape they had to shift into hyperspace. They reached Neptune safely, but hyperspace had left its mark on the unborn Dwight and his twin brother, Midge, and they were born with physical abnormalities. To get back at the Geeks they joined the space commandos and became gunners. Dwight, nicknamed 'Dwarf Star' because he and Midge were "like a couple of binary dwarf stars," was the port gunner with the V.C.s or 'vacuum cleaners', under the command of a no-nonsense sergeant called Jupe. (Both Dwarf Star and Loon, the starboard gunner, were described as "the best gunner in the fleet.")

When Midge was captured by the Geeks, he begged V.C. rookie Steve Smith to kill him rather than let him suffer a fate worse than death as one of the Geeks' P.O.W.s. Smith acquiesced and killed Midge by blowing up his ship, which Dwarf Star could not forgive.

Dwarf Star died when his turret was hid by a Geek missile base hidden on the surface of a dwarf star: "AAAAAH! I'm hit! Hit by... my... own... star!" He sealed the door to his turret so that the breach wouldn't kill everybody else on the ship and was sucked out into space, joining his brother. Dwarf Star's ghost later helped to guide Smith to wipe out the Geeks' high command and end the war.

New series

Dwarf Star was one of the dead V.C.s who haunted Steve Smith to keep him company. His ghost also aided Smith in resisting the interrogation of Geeks who had captured him and wanted him to tell them where he had concealed information on their deadly new weapon. However, he still thought that Smith was a "frickin' dense Earthworm."
