Dougal was a dog belonging to Strontium Dog Middenface McNulty's granny, and was apparently a clone of her previous dog Boab. He accompanied Middenface, plus Johnny Alpha and some friends, on a job to retrieve holy relics from a planet which was hired out to opposing armies to settle their differences on neutral ground. Sadly, Dougal did not survive the mission. However, his cloned descendant Dougal IX still accompanies Middenface on missions.
