Background[]
Polystyle, publishers of TV Comic, published Doctor Who Holiday Specials in 1973 and 1974 and a Doctor Who Winter Special in 1977. Marvel UK published Doctor Who Summer and Winter Specials as an accompaniment to their Doctor Who Magazine from 1980 to 1988 and from 1991 to 1995 (the first Winter Special being in 1981).
There were various other Specials, including:
- A 10th anniversary one in 1989 (celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Doctor Who Magazine, of course, not of Doctor Who)
- A Spring Special in 1996 (focusing on the 1960s Dalek movies)
- A Movie Special in 1996 (focusing on the TV Movie starring Paul McGann)
- A Dalek Chronicles Special.
Further Specials have since been published by Panini, though most of these have had little or no strip content. They are included in the gallery for the sake of completeness.
