Doomcloud marks the comics debut of Sarah Jane Smith. Four years after its publication, TV Comic recycled the story, with the Doctor redrawn by John Canning to resemble his fourth incarnation, Sarah renamed 'Joan Brown' and the Brigadier becoming 'General Maxwell-Lennon'.
