Scorer (1989)

History[]

Dave Storry was the centre-forward of Tolcaster United (though he started out with fourth division club Stonely Wanderers), and played for them for over twenty years without ever seeming to get any older. When not scoring on the pitch he could frequently be found scoring off it, until he met his true love, Danish dish (or possibly Swedish stunner; both were claimed at one time or another) Ulrika. Storry's comic strip career came to a sudden end in 2011, but he seemed set to continue as a footballer.

Women.

Notes[]

Dave's strip, Scorer, was effectively the Daily Mirror's response to the success of Striker in rival paper The Sun. It was unceremoniously dropped in 2011, replaced by reprints of Garth.

Trivia[]

Dave's original major love interest was a woman named Pearl, but their relationship lost its lustre.
