The Dandy Summer Special was an annual publication, a spin-off from the weekly Dandy, which ran from 1964 to 2004, then from 2007 to 2008, before reappearing once again in 2013 and 2014. Following the cancellation of the Dandy, the 2013 special was intended to be the last issue, but it sold well enough that publishers D.C. Thomson decided to issue a 2014 edition. With not enough time to prepare strips for it, this 2014 volume consisted of reprints from previous Summer Specials.
