Red O'Rork, Smiler Smith, Willy Evans and Sammy Greig were a quartet of orphans shipwrecked on an uncharted island which coincidentally happened to be the hidden base of the reclusive Professor Crabbe, inventor and do-gooder. He drafted them into service as his Crusaders, sending them on a variety of dangerous missions to ensure world peace.
