History[]
Cormac is a character from The Black Knight and a servant of Necromon. He used to be a Walker, like Vortigen — one who treads the ways between the worlds.
The dastardly Cormac was one of the six Walkers who betrayed their noble calling by riding a bicycle following the path of corruption and dark sorceries, unlike the Six Proud Walkers who remained faithful. He chose to serve the Nether Gods, as Mordred did, and became a staunch opponent of the Black Knight, Captain Britain and all their allies.
In his first appearance, Cormac prevented the goblin horde he had under his command from killing the captured elf Moondog, because he wanted to interrogate him instead. When Moondog proved uncommunicative, Cormac used him to lure his old acquaintance Vortigen into a trap. However, Moondog and Vortigen together managed to make Cormac stumble into the forcefield he had created to ensnare Vortigen, and the surge of power caused him to de-materialise.
Reappearing a short distance away, Cormac was faced with the Black Knight and his new sword, Excalibur. He tried to mesmerise the Knight with his hypnotic gaze, but Excalibur moved of its own accord and cut his hand off. Cormac retired in disgrace and was never seen again, although the Nether God Necromon did speak through an image of him during the siege of Camelot.
