Fleetway's ongoing The Best of 2000 AD Monthly was cancelled in 1995 and relaunched as this slimmed down version, Classic 2000 AD, seemingly in hopes of picking up readers brought in by the release of the Judge Dredd movie. The now full colour magazine began with a reprinting of the Dredd classic America which got it off to a strong start, but the title still only lasted fifteen issues.
