History[]
Chira was a character from the 2000 AD strip Nemesis the Warlock, the wife of Nemesis and an extremely powerful warlock herself. Shortly before the egg containing her first child hatched, she faced Magna in a ritual combat to decide who would be Nemesis' mate. Although Magna was younger and more energetic than Chira, the older warlock was provoked into unbeatable fury by her love for Nemesis and the pain of the crossbow bolts Magna shot into her flesh. She summoned up all her power to kick Magna off a cliff, winning the duel, and bore her prize home on her back.
Magna vowed revenge and got it by betraying Chira and her son Thoth to Torquemada's Terminators. Chira was killed by a hit squad led by Sir Hargan, having transferred all her mystical power to Thoth so that he at least would survive.
