Characters who are adventurers. The Chambers Dictionary (10th edition) defines an adventurer as "someone who engages in hazardous enterprises; a soldier of fortune, or speculator; someone who pushes his or her fortune, esp by unscrupulous means." Think Han Solo before he developed a conscience.
