Synopsis for "The Star Sceptre!"[]
Captain Britain uses his Star Sceptre to save an illusion of Courtney Ross and to help Merlyn defeat an evil entity called Nykonn. Merlyn informs Captain Britain that he doesn't have enough energy left to transport his astral form back to Earth before his body dies. (NB: This story is partially reprinted, with alterations, in Hulk Comic #35 and Hulk Comic #36.)
Notes[]
Published by Marvel UK in June 1977.
Trivia[]
Roma doesn't join in the fight against Nykonn, which suggests that either she doesn't have any magical powers (unlikely, given her later role as Guardian of the Omniverse) or she was deliberately holding back in order to let Captain Britain win his spurs. (The meta-fictional explanation is that sadly neither Larry Lieber nor Gary Friedrich was very good at writing women.)
