Synopsis for "Hickory, Dickory... Death!"[]
Nick Fury survived being shot by the Red Skull because he was wearing a "life-saver vest." Captain America tells him that he and Captain Britain survived the missile attack on Braddock Manor by hiding in a bomb shelter. Fury and Captain America escape just before S.T.R.I.K.E. blows up the Red Skull's HQ. This has the fortunate side-effect of destroying the computer controlling the germ bomb attached to Big Ben, rendering the bomb harmless. The Red Skull, who has been fighting Captain Britain, is dropped from a considerable height onto the pavement.
Notes[]
Published by Marvel UK in the week ending April 6th 1977.
Trivia[]
It isn't clear why Braddock Manor, which is apparently situated in the middle of the countryside, needed a bomb shelter in WWII. It also isn't clear why Captain Britain decided to hide in it instead of protecting himself and Captain America from the missiles with his force field.
