Synopsis for "The Malevolent Menace Of Mastermind!"[]
In the basement of Braddock Manor, Brian fights a gigantic bald man who wears his underpants outside his trousers and calls himself Mastermind. Finding that his wrist laser cannot penetrate Captain Britain's forcefield, Mastermind proposes that they both drop their weapons. During the ensuing truce, Mastermind shows the young man video footage of how his parents died. Mastermind electrocuted them both while Brian was busy canoodling with Valerie Campbell, his then girlfriend. He manages to persuade Brian that his parents' death was his fault, because if he'd been in the house as well then he could have given them first aid or phoned for an ambulance. This, in fact, is nonsense, because if Brian had been there then he might have died instead of his parents, and if he'd survived it is far from certain that any sort of medical attention would have caused his parents to miraculously recover from being electrocuted. However, Brian is so conscientious that Mastermind's accusation leaves him racked with guilt and begging the computer to kill him.
