Brian Moncrieff Lewis was a British comics artist who was born on June 3rd 1929 and died on December 4th 1978, aged 49. Between those two dates he got a lot done. After serving in the RAF he produced illustrations for the Radio Times and covers for the magazines New Worlds, Science Fantasy and Science Fiction Adventures. His comics work is summarised in the following handy list:
- For Lone Star Lewis drew the strip Magna Carta.
- For Tiger he drew Jet-Ace Logan, Suicide Six, Paddy Ryan, Memorable Moments in Sport and The Destroyer from the Depths.
- For Lion he drew Captain Condor.
- For Boys' World he drew John Brody and Brett Million.
- For Hurricane he drew The Juggernaut from Planet Z.
- For Eagle he drew Guinea Pig and Mann of Battle.
- For Brown Watson he drew strips in The Sweeney Annual.
- For Wham! he drew Pest of the West and Georgie's Germs.
- For Smash! he drew Moon Madness, Space Jinx and Charlie's Choice.
- For Cor!! (which went one better than the titles above by having two exclamation marks in its title) he drew Tomboy.
- For Look-In he drew Les Dawson is Superflop. (Les Dawson's reaction is unrecorded.)
- For 2000 AD he drew Dan Dare.
- For Starlord he drew two covers.
- For Dez Skinn's The House of Hammer he drew a couple of comic strips and ten covers, including a rather striking depiction of a scantily clad woman running away from a dinosaur.
Judging by the photo, he was so insanely busy that he had to keep drawing even when he was down the pub.
