Robert "Bob" Kane (1915-1998) was an American comics writer and artist who is most famous for the creation of Batman (though in fact, his collaborator Bill Finger did much of the work; Kane was simply very good at taking credit, and his name appeared for many years on Batman stories which he'd actually had nothing to do with).
