William Hess 'Bill' Ward (1919-1998) was an American artist who mostly drew erotic cartoons and risque strips such as Torchy and The Adventures of Pussycat (left), though he also drew numerous adventure strips in America's "Golden Age" of comics, including Blackhawk and Captain Mavel Jnr. He also drew the Judge Dredd episode in 2000 AD prog 40. It was the first part of a two-part story which introduced the character Spikes Harvey Rotten.
