Beeb, launched in 1985 by the BBC, was a short lived attempt to provide a competitor to Look-In, centred on BBC rather than ITV shows. Strips included DC Thomson's idiot superhero Bananaman (who then had his own animated TV series on the BBC) and The Tripods, based on the BBC's adaptation of John Christopher's novels. The title lasted for just 20 issues.
