Notes[]
- Battler first appeared in Sun in 1956, but went on to feature in a number of IPC titles well into the 1970s, notably Lion, Thriller Picture Library, Air Ace Picture Library, Comet and two hardcover Battler Britton books in 1960 and 1961.
- A Battler Britton Picture Library Holiday Special was published annually from 1978 to 1982 and again in 1988.
- The IPC characters were eventually bought by Warner Bros., and Battler subsequently resurfaced in 2006 in a five-issue limited series by Garth Ennis and Colin Wilson, published in the United States by Wildstorm, an imprint of DC Comics (see also Thunderbolt Jaxon and Albion).
