
Alan Barnes is a writer and editor who worked on Doctor Who Magazine for five years, progressing from writing strips to being joint editor (from 1998) to being sole editor (from 2000-2001). He also served as editor of the Judge Dredd Megazine from 2002 to December 2005 and wrote several Judge Dredd strips in that time, having first written the character a handful of times in 1996. It was Barnes who commissioned The Simping Detective and Tales from the Black Museum (pictured). He has written several books, as well as a number of Doctor Who audio adventures for Big Finish Productions.
