
A1 was a British anthology title published by Atomeka Press in the same dimensions as a standard modern American comic book, though squarebound and considerably thicker. Edited by regular contributor Garry Leach, co-creator of issue #1 stars the Warpsmiths, it lasted for six issues (plus the one-shot A1 True Life Bikini Confidential) irregularly published between 1989 and 1992, with a further four issues (renumbered from #1) published by America's Epic Comics (a subsidiary of Marvel Comics) in 1992. Three further publications, A1 Big Issue 0, A1 Sketchbook and Bricktop A1 Special were published by Atomeka in 2004, and the A1 Bojeffries Terror Tome (featuring The Bojeffries Saga) followed in 2005. Other strips included The Actress and the Bishop. Contributors included Barry Windsor Smith.
