The people of Freedom have a change of heart, realise that "war draws everyone into the fight for freedom whether they like it or not," and smuggle Rogue's equipment to him. Rogue helps them to kill the invading Norts by detonating gas grenades dispensed by Bagman, with the civilians protected by the breathing apparatus the Norts had foolishly discarded. Unfortunately, this makes the town of Freedom as polluted as the rest of Nu Earth, and all of its livestock has died.
