Synopsis for "Harlem Heroes"[]

The Harlem Heroes take on a mysterious new Aeroball team who seem impervious to pain or fatigue, but they eventually prove to be robots. The Heroes prove that no robot is a match for a real Aeroball player.

Notes[]

  • This issue also features Judge Dredd, Flesh, M.A.C.H One, Dan Dare and Invasion! (as well as the reprinted non-2000AD strip Phantom Patrol)
  • A feature previewing the then as yet unreleased movie Star Wars mistakenly labels a photo of Han Solo and Chewbacca as "Luke Skywalker takes a break with one of his friends".
  • A feature hypothesizing what humanity will look like in 50, 000 years time predicts that everyone will have huge brains, spindly arms and legs, large eyes...and white skin, as "the chromosome that gives black skin will have almost entirely disappeared". Oh, and we'll all be bald, apparently.

Trivia[]

This was the only 2000AD Summer Special; however, it led to the launch the following year of the 2000 AD Sci-Fi Special series.
